When my wife and I decided to have most of our 3,000 square foot apartment in Coal Harbour repainted we sought a number of bids from firms that had been recommended to us by the local Benjamin Moore store. We chose the quote from Derek Bardon at Careful Painting because of the completeness of the quote which indicated to us that Derek really understood what we wanted in having our apartment repainted.
Andrea and Kurt, the painters that Derek assigned to us, were with us for 9 days and did a terrific job. They arrived on time each day and were extremely attentive in ensuring that our lives were disrupted as little as possible while the painting was underway. Their attention to detail in preparing each area being painted was all that you could hope for, the end result was exceptional and they made sure that everything was cleared away at the end of each day so that we were not constantly reminded of the fact that we were in the midst of a repainting exercise.
Andrea and Kurt stayed very much to the schedule that Derek had laid out for us and even managed to come in a little under the budget that had been provided. Always a nice surprise. We would have no hesitation in recommending Careful Painting and we would certainly use them again.

Derek’s team at Careful Painting have painted the entire outside (Benjamin Moore paints) and inside (Farrow and Ball) of my traditional cedar shake house in West Point Grey. They have also taken care of some repairs and refreshment of walls or wood trim from time to time. Derek has been very professional, courteous and timely in all his dealings. His team have lived up to the name of being very careful professionals who did an excellent job and cleaned up thoroughly. They have provided high quality painting in a house full of complicated ceiling angles, wood trim and window muntins. Derek and Careful Painiting did a great job in cleaning, sanding and renewing the finish and lustre of my cedar deck 3 years ago after years of wear and weathering. I have had them back every year since to re-stain and maintain the finish. Derek takes the time to understand what I’d like the finished project to look like and walk through the work recommended to achieve this. He provides options for different types of stain products and explains the pros and cons of each. The Careful Painting team provide a professional service, keep the work site clean while the job is in progress, work carefully around nearby trees and shrubs, and clean up when the project is done.
